25.04 Release Notes

Point

General

  • Cash Variance Explanation Tracking: When a cash count variance requires a recount, clerks are now prompted to provide an explanation before proceeding. This ensures discrepancies are documented and reviewed as part of the reconciliation process.
  • Enhanced Cash Audit Reporting: All cash count attempts, recounts, variances, and explanations are now captured through an expanded audit framework. Management teams can review reconciliation activity through Fusion, TASK Portal, and API reporting, providing greater visibility into cash handling compliance and operational trends.
  • Automatic Navigation to Swappable Ingredients: The recipe modifier screen now automatically switches to the All tab when the Swap button is selected, displaying all available swappable ingredients without requiring any additional navigation.
  • Improved User Experience for Recipe Swaps: By removing the need for an additional button press and guiding users directly to available swap options, the POS delivers a more intuitive workflow and reduces the likelihood of staff confusion when modifying menu items.
  • Shared Scanner Support: The POS now supports shared scanners across multiple terminals, allowing scanners to be used by different POS terminals within a venue. This provides greater flexibility in high-volume environments where staff may need to process sales from different service points using the same scanning hardware.
  • Manual Order Ready Notifications: Staff can now manually mark online orders as Order Ready directly from the Online Orders viewer in the POS. This provides a simple way to notify customers when their order is ready for collection, even in locations that do not use a Kitchen Management System (KMS)
  • Improved Sales Screen Visual Consistency: This enhancement ensures that payment processing events do not unintentionally alter the visual styling of the sales screen, providing a more predictable and consistent user experience for staff.

Printing

  • Delivery Reference Number Printing: Receipts can now include a Delivery Reference Number, allowing stores, delivery drivers, and customers to easily identify and reference online delivery orders using the order number provided by the delivery partner.

Members

  • Member Login by External ID: The POS now supports member lookup and login using External IDs, allowing businesses to authenticate members using third-party loyalty cards and membership identifiers that contain alphanumeric values.
  • Loyalty Points for Online Orders: Online ordering now supports Product Accrual menu flows, ensuring members receive loyalty points when purchasing eligible products through digital ordering channels, just as they would when ordering through the POS.

Integrations

  • Uber Eats Multi-Order Type Support: The Uber Eats integration now supports multiple order type methods, allowing businesses to configure and process Delivery, Pickup, and Dine In orders independently from a single Uber Eats marketplace integration.

Reporting

  • Automatic Web Order Finalisation During Report Resets: The existing automatic web order finalisation functionality can now be configured to run during manual report resets (Z Reads), ensuring outstanding online orders are processed and finalised as part of end-of-day procedures.

Menu Flows

  • Donation Menu Flow Support for Online Orders: Donation menu flows can now be applied to eligible online orders, ensuring donation-related sale lines are added even when orders originate from external ordering channels.

Customer Displays

  • Enhanced Item Presentation on Customer Displays: HTML Customer Displays now utilise POS-defined display settings to control how sale items are presented, ensuring the customer-facing display more closely matches the formatting and structure used within the POS.

KMS

General

  • Automatic Unlocking of Transferred Orders: Parent (controller) KMS screens can now correctly unlock orders when all required production steps have been completed, regardless of whether part of the order was transferred to another KMS during preparation.
  • Enhanced Order Transfer Controls: A new KMS order transfer mode has been introduced, allowing kitchen displays to send orders to other KMS screens while preventing incoming transfers. This provides greater control over how orders flow through kitchen operations.
  • Aggregate Similar Displayed Items: A new KMS setting allows similar products, modifiers, ingredients, and menu flow items to be automatically grouped together within order cells, reducing visual clutter and making orders easier for kitchen staff to read.
  • Configurable Colours for Instruction Products: KMS now supports custom colours for instruction products, allowing businesses to choose how instruction items are displayed rather than being limited to the default red styling.

Kiosk

General

  • Visual Scroll Indicators for Menus and Menu Flows: Kiosk screens now display scrollbars when menu pages or menu flow pages contain more items than can fit on the screen, making it clearer to customers that additional options are available beyond the visible area.
  • Customer-Friendly Error Messaging: A configurable notification message is displayed on-screen when an invalid barcode is detected, helping customers understand that the scan was unsuccessful and reducing confusion during self-service ordering.
  • Digital Receipt Support: Customers can now access a digital version of their in-store receipt using a secure receipt link generated at the time of sale. This provides a convenient alternative to traditional printed receipts and allows customers to retrieve transaction details directly from their mobile device.

Integrations

This provides a more efficient method for external ordering platforms to retrieve the operational and menu data required to deliver self-service ordering experiences.
